Casino Agent System Explained: How Agent and Retail Betting Networks Work

In cash-heavy markets, agents and shops are how players get credit. Here's how an agent system works and what your software needs.

In many markets players don't pay online with cards. They pay cash, to a person or a shop they trust. A casino agent system turns that network of people and shops into a structured, trackable sales channel.

What is a casino agent system?

A casino agent system is a hierarchy of accounts that sells credit to players:

  1. Operator (master account) funds the network
  2. Master agents manage regions or groups of agents
  3. Agents and shops top up players, usually for cash
  4. Players play online, in a shop terminal, or in a mobile app

Credit flows down the tree. Reports and commissions flow back up.

How credit moves

Each account has its own balance. When an agent tops up a player, the amount moves from the agent's balance to the player's wallet instantly. When the agent runs low, their master agent transfers more credit.

Good software lets you set credit limits per account, so no agent can move more than you allow.

How commissions work

Commission is how agents get paid. Common models include:

  • A share of turnover from their players
  • A share of net revenue from their players
  • A fixed amount per top-up

You set the rules per tier. The system calculates commission automatically and shows it in each agent's report, so there are no spreadsheets and no disputes.

Retail: shops and kiosks

Retail betting shops fit naturally into an agent system. A shop is simply an agent with:

  • Its own balance and cashier login
  • An in-shop terminal or kiosk where players can play or bet
  • Daily reports on cash in, cash out and commission

The same player wallet works online and in the shop, across casino and sportsbook.

What to look for in retail betting software

  • Unlimited tiers: master, agent, sub-agent, cashier
  • Instant credit transfers with limits at every level
  • Automatic commissions per tier
  • A cashier app agents can use from a phone
  • One wallet across casino, sportsbook and retail
  • Per-agent reporting on turnover, balance and commission
  • Full audit trail of every transfer

Who uses agent systems?

Agent networks are common where cash is king, card payments are limited, or players prefer dealing with someone local. They also work well alongside a Telegram casino, where agents share links and top up players directly.

Getting started

You don't need to build this yourself. Our agent and retail model runs on the same platform as your casino and sportsbook, with the hierarchy, commissions and cashier app included.
